It seems pretty safe, generally drivers here are looking for people/bikes/carts/delivery in the streets, so they have their eyes open for the most part. All things considered I'd probably agree it is safer biking here that in other cities, simply because it's more 'normal'. That sucks that people would try to hit you! The cops here hate Critical Mass, there are always problems.

As an Outer Banks resident the economic concern is currently outweighing my concern about the birds. As much personal concern as I do have about all wildlife this is a tough decision personally as it directly impacts the economy I depend on.

Nice ride man. You got a Cannondale from the brands golden age. Over the last few years the brand has gotten diluted as the company changed hands a few times. I'm thinking you may actually have one of the frames that was made in the USA!

In other Air Force One news, I was at a friends house who lives in kind of a sketchy area in Atlanta, and this guy who is sort of a homeless dude knocks on my friends door trying to sell him a weed wacker. My friend wasn't interested in the weed wacker, so the guy is like "do you need any Nikes...I have about 15 pair to sell, but I only have 2 pair with me". I went over to check out what he had, just for laughs. Turns out he had a brand spanking new pair of classic white on white AF1s, in my size. He asked for $10 for them, I offered $7...and the deal was done! I win for the ghetto score of the week!
